Shipping & Returns


Shipping options are shown and calculated during checkout. A shipping estimator is also available at the bottom of the shopping cart to let you see shipping costs before you checkout. Customer information is requested at time of checkout, if you have not already registered an account with us.

Priority shipping for US orders is by Priority Mail (2-3 days for continental US), which is the method we recommend. Economy 1st class shipping is also available for US addresses via USPS Parcel Post/1st Class Mail (3-7 days for continental US).

Your yarn will be securely packed in a Priority Mail box or in a waterproof heavy-duty shipping bag (Economy Bag), depending on your shipping choice at checkout. Also, depending on the size of the order, Priority Mail can often be a similar cost or even less than economy shipping, but provides faster service, and up to $50 standard insurance.

To Canada, we typically ship via USPS First Class in a waterproof heavy-duty shipping bag. No insurance or indemnity is available for First Class Post. Priority Mail options are available, and are typically less than the "flat rate" priority option shown depending on the size of the order. The difference in cost will be refunded to you, once calculated.

Costs for USPS First Class postal shipment is calculated automatically at checkout for most countries. No insurance or indemnity is available for First Class Post. If no shipping option appears for your region during checkout, or if you would like to check with us for other options for shipment, contact us at for a shipping quote.

International orders will typically be packed in an Economy Mailing bag for reduced weight and shipping costs. Larger orders weighing over 4lbs (1.8kg) can only be shipped via Priority Mail. NOTE: it may be less expensive to split large orders into 2 or 3 smaller orders so you can select the cheaper First Class shipping option. You can experiment with quantities in your shopping cart and use the shipping estimator to check this. Time for delivery varies for international Postal delivery. VAT, import fees, and customs duties vary by country and are your responsibility upon receipt.

Shipping rates are the same as for domestic US mail, but may take us an extra day to get packed for shipping due to customs forms. Yarn Charm cannot be held responsible for mailings which may be to other than authorized recipients or against Military/Diplomatic guidelines, nor any loss or discipline resulting thereof. If you are having goods shipped to a qualified APO/FPO/DPO recipient, please be sure to specify the shipping address very precisely including the person's rank (if any) and name, Unit designation, Box number, and postal code. When entering the shipping address, select the country as United States, the State/Province as the appropriate Armed Forces region, and "City" as APO, FPO, or DPO. Do NOT include any local specific city or country names for the addressee. Customs duties may be assessed on arrival. Please also be sure to provide a telephone number that can be marked on the customs paperwork in case there are any delivery problems or customs entry problems. Unused unopened yarn may be returned within 60 days at the lesser of current price or your purchase price. Yarn must be neat, clean and smell-free/smoke-free/pet hair-free, still in factory-wound condition with original ball band or tags, i.e. ready for resale. We also do not not accept returns of yarn re-wound from hanked-skeins into center-pull skeins regardless of whether or not we performed that service on behalf of the customer upon their request. Books, Magazines, Patterns are not returnable. Needles and hooks are not returnable except in cases for exchanges due to manufacturing flaws (not damage or regular wear) and for Addi lifetime guaranteed replacements. Exchanges will be made only for like items. Clearance, factory seconds, mill-end, and deep discount sale items priced at 20% or more off are not eligible for return. At our discretion, funds for returns may be given as a gift certificate for store credit, a refund to Credit Card or to PayPal, depending on sale type and duration since purchase. Shipping costs are generally not refundable. Shipping for returns is at your expense unless there was an order error or defect on our part. If you return enough items (or all items) from an order which originally qualified for free shipping to bring the total below the qualified free shipping level, our original cost of shipping will be deducted from your refund. If you return items which do not meet return standards, we can only return them to you at your shipping cost with no other credit. Parcels which are "returned to sender" because of incorrect addressing as provided by customer may be refunded less our shipping cost or re-sent upon payment of the additional shipping costs required to resend. International shipments returned due to recipient's failure to pay customs duties or VAT will also be treated as "returned to sender" and can be re-sent upon payment of any additional shipping costs.
